T2C: Remember that all sail cloth options are INCLUDED in the price of the T2C. New Hardware Options: Also due to popular demand, we are now offering a no extra cost option of a round speedbar basetube (see attached photo of hardware) on any Litestream control bar application (Sport 2, U2, Litestream equipped T2, or Falcon 3 accessory Litestream control bar kit). This option is to address the requests of pilots who prefer the grip of a round basetube for comfort reasons, and pilots who want to be able to mount larger diameter wheels on a Litestream control bar. Pilots should expect approximately 1/2 point in degradation of L/D by going to the round basetube over the streamlined basetube. For pilots that wish to retrofit an existing glider, the retrofit will require the purchase of the round speedbar basetube, the basetube to bracket nuts, bolts and safety rings, and a pair of the Litestream to Round basetube end brackets at the normal parts prices ( $213 retail). And remember, as announced earlier, we also now offer the Carbon Basetube to fit any Litestream Control Bar Application. (See attached photo). The upgrade, when ordered on a glider, costs $420 retail. The basetube assembly with end brackets, for retrofit, costs $780 retail. New U2 Sail Cut For 2009 The sail cut on the U2 has been refined and upgraded for the 2009 model year. The result is a cleaner sail, nicer handling, and even higher performance. With the new performance options available for the U2 (carbon basetube, all Mylar top surface), the 2009 U2 promises to retain it's position as the all around highest performing and best value glider in its class. We have numerous reports from cross country clinics that pilots on the U2 consistently do better than those on other models. Credit the U2's extraordinary combination of exceptional pure performance with an unusual degree of pilot friendly handling qualities for this unmatched level of effective performance. And all this is glider that retails for under $5000 (depending on options) and weighs only 68 lbs in the 160 size, or 63 lbs in the 145 size! Falcon 3 Online Glider Order Page Now Working You can now place orders for Falcon 3's with customer choice of colors through our online glider order page. Year In Review Obviously the most significant event for us in 2008 was the loss of our friend and partner for 30 years, Rob Kells, to prostate cancer in August. As we said at the time, Wills Wing will not be the same without Rob. At the same time, as we also said at the time, we remain fully committed to our company mission of designing and manufacturing the highest quality hang gliding equipment and providing the best possible service to our customers. That includes a commitment to provide you, our dealers, with the strongest possible support in your job of bringing pilots into the sport and providing them with access to the best service and equipment. We remain confident in our ability to continue to fulfill that mission, and we remain thankful for all of your support, in the past and going forward. We encourage you to continue to let us know what we can do to help you. We got off to a slow start in production in 2008 due to some illnesses in January affecting some of our key employees, and as a result our glider delivery times were longer than we wanted them to be throughout the year. We have now caught up on our backlog, however, and we will start 2009 with a good supply of inventory gliders and expected delivery times on new glider orders of six weeks or less. We hope to be able to keep delivery times down this coming year, and maintain an available supply of inventory gliders for quick delivery. Wills Wing T2's and T2C's dominated the standings in National and International competition this year, including multiple wins by Dustin Martin, Wolfgang Siess and Nene Rotor; British XC League and British Open Series wins by Bruce Kavanagh, and a US National Championship title by Zac Majors. For the complete list of T2 wins this year see the News section at www.willswing.com Looking Ahead We're looking forward to 2009! The current climate of economic uncertainty will no doubt present challenges for all of us in the coming year, but we remain optimistic and enthusiastic about the sport and the business of hang gliding. We're looking forward to seeing as many of you as can make it at our Wallaby Event (March 31st through April 4th), and we'll be announcing additional events and demo days as the new year progresses. Have a great holiday and a great 2009! Sincerely, Mike and Linda Meier and Steve Pearson
